Comments on: L551 rounds the curve at Hamilton Junction with some lumber and a pair of dimensional loads in tow.
So i’m down in Hamilton waiting to pick up my wife from a Medical appointment and nothing is going on, i’m bored out of my tree and I get to my truck and hear L551 trying to get out onto the main with a d1r and a D9r.. which peaked my interest heavily. I had to make a mad scramble for somewhere to shoot it and chose to do the York Rd Bridge, where I could use many of my lenses to full effect – this is a shot taken at 400mm cropped, so approx 600mm equivalent – spray and pray and they turned out sharp! I used my wide angle as they crossed the Desjardins Canal. What’s really neat about this train is the first load is a d1r and the second is a d9r and you can see the size difference. L551 worked Pearce before running around their train at Millen and spotting the transformers at GE in Winona. This all happened really quickly as they were 25 MPH the whole way..

Btw I should also mention due to conversion of the cp-cn connecting track signal bridge to poles, only because of this has this angle been opened up. Previously the signals were in the way.

I love this shot, that setting almost looks like it could be HO scale. I've always found the 'centipede' looking special service cars interesting too.

As an aside Stephen, you're one of a select few people that know how to spell "piqued". It's clear you were paying attention in English class!

Interesting new style station name sign. Not nearly as easy to read as the older signs with larger lettering.

Thank you glad you like it. Also note the hill in the background? That's our newest Bayview Jct area 'fan' spot for photography. A great spot for CPR northbounds and any CNR trains coming from Hamilton at the right time.

After the work was completed at Hamilton Jct that area was completely razed of trees and rebuilt. So it'll be good for a while until .. the trees grow again :)

LOL...Come on Dave. You know how much you loved issuing GBO's for D9R single track movements when you had no place for them to pass :-)

As a former RTC, I used to hate protecting dimensional loads.
