Comments on: Late afternoon Toronto-bound Penn Central power on what I figure was the TH&B Starlite (I’ve forgotten) rolling thru Bayview as seen from up on the hillside. Units are PC 8086, 8012 and 2101. The paint looks relatively new on the 2101, which I think is a GP20. Info on this loco would be appreciated.

NYC bought 15 GP20, initially 6100-6114; the 6106, 6109 were early wreck victims, so the remainder became NYC 2100-2112 for the PC renumbering plan which started a few years before the 1968 merger date. They were pretty 'vanilla' locos and hence were scrapped after CR took possession ( no dynamics, etc).

CP5756,

I know some fellers that have a collection of PC/CR stuff - John Eull continues to manage this collection, before him was Bruce Acheson and Bryce Lee (Rest In Peace to Bruce and Bryce). You can see a lot of it here:

Doug page is still around too! Like I said he has an extensive collection as he photographed the Canada Southern frequently as he had a cottage near Canfield. 30-50 trains a day you are bound to see a few trains even in an hour.

So that is indeed a GP20. It is ex-NYC, and later these went to Conrail, keeping the same numbers the whole time. It is also fairly rare, as there were only 13 of these (2100-2112).

I wish!!! But most all of my early imagines were done with a camera that shot fixed at about 30th of a second.
So, no good, really. Thanks for asking.
