This equipment has been owned by the city for at least 2 decades. Sometime around 2004 they were torched by vandals with a penchant for arson so the interiors are just charred remains and as for the main body of the cars, well this picture says it all really. Unfortunately I don’t really think there is a future for these things outside of a scrap yard!

If the city, or whoever owns this equipment doesn’t do something with it soon, it will become, like so many other locomotives or pieces of rolling stock intended for rebuild and display … scrap! I first captured this out of service/retired equipment at ONR’s North Bay yard on August 2, 2000. Over 22 years ago!
