Comments on: London and Southwestern Railway 4-4-0 number 563 and a coach rest on the turntable at the John Street roundhouse. The equipment was brought over from England for the theatre production of “The Railway Children”. During shows the train was moved into the stage area by a trackmobile. The production was not very successful and the equipment was returned to England. The locomotive was restored to operation in 2023. The engine probably felt at home on this grey misty day.

I was volunteering with the TRHA back then and had helped out with this project. The play was always intended to be a limited run and the British equipment was only on loan.
