Comments on: Looking south at Fargo, along the CN Sarnia Spur was the CN CASO Sub used to cross at the diamond. This is all gone now, except for the last two signals, which are still remaining.

Thanks for recording this moment in time Dean. This really illustrates to me the failure in public policy in Canada, when it comes to rail lines being abandoned. This started with legislation by the Mulroney gov't in 1988 that made it easier for rail lines to be abandoned & ripped up. I am sure the CASO could have been a viable route across southern Ontario given time, whether run by CP, CN or another company with running rights between Detroit/Windsor & Hewitt(?) to Fort Erie or Buffalo. The lack of grades and curves made it a raceway at one time. If we had "railbanking" opportunities in Canada, the demise of this route might have been stayed.
