Comments on: Mid-afternoon VIA #86 was cut from the schedule a long time back. No wonder. All the time I witnessed it, the train really didn’t amount to much. In this view, the eastbound is rolling over the switch lead to the small “yard” behind the old Dundas station [fire: 1984] where often, as in this case, boarding cars and other misc equipment could be found. On the left is a stub; former lead to lower Canada Crushed Stone and related (Steetley) industries, and on the right is the track leading up to the loading area of the CCSL. The plant has been closed since @1973, and property abandoned at the time of this photo.

Hey, Ralph, a member (once upon a time) of bustling downtown Greensville.......you should mosey on down to the Dundas Historical Society and pick up a copy of "Life on the Copetown Hill" by Phil Lomax. You'd love it. Ah what the heck. So its $50 (or something like that). It is a great book. There is even, within the pages, a photo of Dundas station taken in 1865.

After a long dull day of mixing mortar and building scaffold, this sure does brighten up my day.I am from Greensville, just up the hill and I've walked these tracks a million times. I was born too late to enjoy a scene like this but with this image it feels like I was here.

Thank you very much. Keep the Dundas shot coming!!
