<title>Comments on: MLW FPA-4 VIA 6775 powers itself and 3 steam-heated coaches of its westbound train up the grade below Dundas Peak, approaching Dundas Station. I read that Dundas Station was severely damaged by fire in 1984.
MLW built and sold 34 FPA-4 (A-unit) and 12 FPB-4 (cabless B-unit) locomotives to CN alone, who transferred them to VIA. Their CN / VIA class codes were MPA-18a and MPB-18a.
A 12 cylinder 1800 HP ALCo 251 diesel engine improved on the 1600 HP ALCo 244 engine of the FPA-2 (and FPB-2).</title>
