I’m not sure what is more historic in this image. One-of-a-kind RSD-17, #8921 (The Empress of Agincourt), or the billboard advertising cigarettes!

I really liked the look of the alligators on the American railroads. With a good nose job, the 8921 would certainly have the same neat appearance.

Now, can you pass me one of those Benson and Hedges 100's. Oops, you meant the Players plain. Sorry. :-O

I have to agree, Mike, she really was an elegant monster.

I understand that later in life the locomotive got a "Nose-Job" to improve visibility. I'm wondering if perhaps the view would have been better if they had simply removed the paper shown in this image from the cab window. Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing??

Such an elegant looking monster. Definitely gets my vote as more historic... and the Empress was known to smoke as well.
