Comments on: My first realization that things on Ontario Northland would never be the same as they were was when the SD75s hit the scene. Tolerating those was okay, but the subsequent dealing off of a few SD40-2s in 2005 was the real wakeup. Scenes such as this one cemented the modern era in my noggin. The southbound Englehart to North Bay train, as seen crossing over the Montreal River bridge in Latchford is all new era power: ONR 2102, 2105 and 2101. Even mainline trains in the North are becoming same old, same old…………….

Zip Zap! It is 30 years into the future, 2047. The people are on the road in autopilot cars. Which know to stop at rail crossings when a train approaches. They are stopped right now and the little boy in the back sees it coming with the cabless remotely controlled engine beeping the horn. The little boy, who has been looking at his handheld world connection exclaims. Hey Dad! I’m looking at a picture from a man named Mooney and it shows that trains used to have cabs and 2 men road up in the engine. Cool!
