Comments on: My photo of the week (Apr. 26-May 2) is of VIA 85 alongside parked GEXR power at the Kitchener VIA Station in early March 2018. The GEXR power pictured is wide-cab 3030 and LLPX 2236. VIA 85 was led by 6402. A note about the silver scheme on VIA engines: It all started in 2017 with the Canada 150 scheme, then in early 2018, the “Canada 150″ was dropped leaving this version pictured; the VIA 40 year anniversary scheme came later on the same year (with the multi-coloured city/town names dropped), followed by the one currently since 2019 with “Love the Way” marked on them. Some foamers hate the scheme. I personally don’t mind it. Paint and wraps on locomotives have always been a matter of taste. I’ve also heard disgust over the G&W orange and yellow – also not bad in my opinion. Maybe I’m just not fussy when it comes to these things because I’m happy just to have the opportunity to get train shots!
