Comments on: My photo of the week (Apr. 26-May 2) is of VIA 85 alongside parked GEXR power at the Kitchener VIA Station in early March 2018. The GEXR power pictured is wide-cab 3030 and LLPX 2236. VIA 85 was led by 6402. A note about the silver scheme on VIA engines: It all started in 2017 with the Canada 150 scheme, then in early 2018, the “Canada 150″ was dropped leaving this version pictured; the VIA 40 year anniversary scheme came later on the same year (with the multi-coloured city/town names dropped), followed by the one currently since 2019 with “Love the Way” marked on them. Some foamers hate the scheme. I personally don’t mind it. Paint and wraps on locomotives have always been a matter of taste. I’ve also heard disgust over the G&W orange and yellow – also not bad in my opinion. Maybe I’m just not fussy when it comes to these things because I’m happy just to have the opportunity to get train shots!

Wasn't 6402 the one that got stranded in Churchill for quite a while?

Nice Kevin! I miss seeing units sitting across from the station, but glad for all I photographed here over the years with CN and GEXR.

I like the G&W scheme so much I went out and bought a $300 G&W locomotive!
