Today VIA traffic seems to dominate most trains on most trips with little variety, while the scenery is still beautiful, many of my old haunts are now gone with the removal of a number of old bridges along the line. Time rolls on and one has to make the most of what is handed to them. It seems that today many of the trains rolling through the area are dominated by 1+1 DPU consists. In this case even the VIA train almost looks like a DPU set up, but obviously not the case. Stephenson Road is still a favourite location for me and my boys when in the Newcastle/Lovekin area. The fading autumn colours certainly helped make the shot.

Very nice Marcus, and echo your comments on changes over the years, not only old wooden bridges gone, but old rail enthusiast friends gone as well. This picture may very well be historical in the next few years when the F40’s + LRC equipment have been replaced with the new Siemens train sets. Good for you getting out and photographing these passenger trains in this very nice setting. One thing that doesn’t change is change itself. Thank you for posting, John
