Comments on: Near the Missisauga/Oakville boundary just north of Lakeshore Blvd is a major cement plant. Previously it was St Lawrence Cement, then sold to Holcim (of Switzerland), currently owned by CRH (of Ireland). Rail access is from a branch off CN Oakville Sub east of Oakville Yard. Primary ingredient limestone comes in by lake ships from Ogden Point quarry near Colborne ON (“Big Apple” exit off 401).
Cdn Trackside Guide lists an un-numbered 1956-built GE 45T locomotive as the plant switcher. It was seen in mid-2014 with the Holcim Cement HC logo, and some artwork on the other hood – looks to me like a black walrus, and a blue-eyed white creature.

I was lucky enough to catch this Plant Switcher yesterday running light and moving some empties. The unit is now painted blue and stencilled ASH GROVE A CRH Company. My photo opportunity was through the fence and brush.

I gave the wrong street name, it's really AVONHEAD Road. The other street exists but ... I only went to look here once, luckily it worked out well, time I took another look. Google steetview shows a lot of hoppers, from last time it photographed Avonhead.

Well done! I knew it was down there but and it was confirmed as Google Satellite has 2D where I can zoom in. I'm going down there now to the LCBO..see if I can get the same luck.

Saw it from Arrowhead Road, found a gap in the bushes, taken through the mesh of their chain link fence. I should take another look one morning - may not be there or unobstructed.
