Comments on: Nearing Beachville, OSR 1400 is westbound on the St. Thomas Subdivision where you can easily follow the boys by driving beside them on Beachville Road. Formerly known as VIA 6539, this locomotive has been promised to the Via Rail Historical Association and They are looking for your help!. While it’s too bad 1400 will be leaving OSR, it’s been out of service for a few years and hopefully it will have a nice long life in preservation. When was the last time 1400 was seen in service? anyone know?

It was on the 4/23 move on the Cayuga – but Matthew’s comment and Rob Smith’s photo show it was out months later in the summer.

If I shot 1400/1401 leading I never paid much attention to which one I got. They looked identical pretty much to me. I just assumed it was 1401 since that was the one that got out the most – like shooting 180 or 181 on the Guelph Junction.
