This unit was originally built for the Chesapeake &amp; Ohio in March 1951 as their 5729 and was acquired by the NYC in January 1956 to help dieselize the Canada Division. She was operated by NYC successors Penn Central and Conrail until the time of the Canada Southern&#8217;s sale to CN/CP in 1985.</title>
