Comments on: Nice combination of power, SD40 5067 leads GP38-2 5584 and 5574 around the curve at Bayview, running off the CN Oakville Sub westbound onto the Dundas on a dreary day many years ago. The lead unit eventually went to the New Brunswick East Coast, and the trailing units were renumbered in 1988 to 4784 and 4774 respectively.

Those look to be outside braced wood stock cars. They have probably been in service for many many years. Some of the old equipment has been swept aside maybe a little to casually. Not that I agree they end up in museums but I wish now I had taken a few pictures myself.
Like your photo in Lloydminster, you got several good stock cars in that photo.

I thought they were too, at first glance, because they are where they should be, right behind the power. But I really do not know. Livestock cars were not all that rare back then even though cattle by rail was fading out, so with the cost of slides in mind, I took very few livestock car photos.
