<title>Comments on: No, the cars aren&#8217;t blowing the crossing: we&#8217;re riding in the cab of GO cab car 237, trailing southbound on Bramalea-Toronto train #252 on the Georgetown line. The cab car is bucking through the crossovers at Strachan Avenue, just after clearing the grade crossing as traffic going through Liberty Village resumes and the train enters the Union Station Rail Corridor.

All that remained of Strachan Avenue in the mid-late 2000&#8242;s was a busy grade crossing and a massive signal bridge. The old CP Parkdale Yard (once on the left) had long been removed and replaced with housing, ditto for the old Massey Harris/Ferguson manufacturing facilities on the north side (to the right). Two old CP yard spotlight towers remained (one here at Strachan out of view to the left, the other visible in the distance near King St. underpass). Most of the manufacturing buildings here had been either torn down and redeveloped, or repurposed into lofts and condos (I recall that black building in the background was another M-F factory along King St. that was later demolished). The double-track mainlines for the CP Galt Sub (left) and CN Weston Sub (right) remain. All of this was replaced with a large trench a number of years later.</title>
