Comments on: Northbound Toronto to Sudbury Jct connection of the Canadian at Washago. CN 6501, not yet painted to VIA, leads VIA 6633 and 6509. Units retired now save for 6509 which was rebuilt to 6304 then sold; it is currently stored in Wainwright, Alberta under private ownership. New watertower replaces old wooden leaker that existed until at least 1978.

Wow ! 3306 views !! A colourful, interesting and for me nostalgic picture of railway action at Washago. It is amazing that 33 years later you can still take approximately the same picture on Wed and Sun mornings of Canada’s one remaining transcontinental passenger train, with the same water tank in the background. Well done Mr. Mooney, well done !

What colour Mr. Mooney! Those were the days! Interesting personal side-note, besides NL (we were there with our son), the only other soccer team playing for Canada in the Acropolis Cup in Italy in 2012 was the girls team from Washago!
