Comments on: Not much of a train to look at, but we seldom see “Red Barns” and more and have to go to the USA to view TOFC. This image of a westbound #123 “eXpressway” was shot at mile 42.6 on the GALT where Concession 14 East crosses. We’re at the first road west of the Mountsberg Conservation Area. I hung around this location for a bit because scanner chatter was clear and the Galt sub actually used to be busy. The “eXpressway” ran from Montreal thru to Detroit; then found itself cut back Montreal to Toronto……and then canceled.

Nice one! I wonder what caused TOFC to disapear in Canada, while they still exists mixed in with container traffic south of the border. Missed opportunity to do the same here?

I believe it was the border delays after the 9-11-01 terrorist attacks that made CP cancel the Milton – Detroit Expressway Train. The border crossings took much longer than before; destroying the timely service. The auto parts loads went back to The 401.
