Comments on: N&W 3725 in the Windsor shop area, being prepared for a trip east. While we were there, the unit had been taken for a trip around the turntable and then couple up to N&W 2700. During processing of this image I noticed below the Engineers window and by the the sand filler hatch the word “scabs” had been scrawled. The strike expanded to some other railroads in solidarity and lasted over three months. During this time, N&W used management and some non-unionized workers to keep some trains moving.
