Comments on: Of all the engines that could be around and bouncing back and forth day after day, CP 7016 and 6644 are a great pair. Seen here with a friendly wave from the conductor, the units are working hard to keep about 7000 feet of train moving through Streetsville.

Brad: You might have to drag that nice lady along to the Jct for a decent shot of a #247. Most of the time it is marked 1500-1530 at Kinnear and an hour is spent there, minimum, so probably would make the Jct around 1730-1800 a lot of days. A mile south on the Ham sub where Bill Purdy fires off those nice shots of it by the signal would be your last decent lighting, I would think. As far as cameras, any camera is better than no camera.

@kevin flood I believe 247 had the CMQ unit on it (thanks to Mr Mooney's heads up) when I headed out to see it at Bartlett, Toronto. Me and a lovely lady railfan, I had just met, finally went to Lambton where it was waiting for another crew. And it was dark by the time we could film it. So late aft/early evening sounds right. Thanks!

@BradKetchen: It's 246 Toronto to Buffalo and 247 the opposite way (Buffalo to Toronto). 247 may be late today since they got into Buffalo later than normal. Recently, it has been getting onto the Galt Sub in the late afternoon, so it could be this evening, and late evening on the North Toronto Sub. All depends on when 247 gets going today (July 27).

Can anyone tell me when I can expect these engines rolling through Toronto today? Is the symbol 246/247? Thanks in advance.

Thank you! I heard that 7016 was having issues the day before. If 7016 developed issues on this trip then it must have been after I saw the train.
