Comments on: Off the beaten path. A rarely photographed but very scenic line which has almost no daytime traffic is CN’s La Tuque Sub in northern Quebec. Here we see VIA 6440 leading VIA 604, the train from Senneterre past a very scenic rock cut at Lake Masketsi. In under half an hour it will be joined with VIA 600 from Jonquière at Hervey-Jonction and the combined train will head to Montreal, about an hour late.

It’s approximately 4-5 hours northeast of Montreal. It’s a short walk from a logging road.
