In addition, these “Section Shacks” once could be found all along the railway. Junk and tools and a workbench inside as well as the trackcar and an oil stove for the winter months. In summer, hornets were a problem. I remember this particular building because of the battered wooden doors and the “CNR” padlock represented a dying era in railroading. Later around 1982-ish when this building was demolished, I used to see the CN trackcar (Fairmont?) patrol mornings from Burlington perhaps, and run as far as Copetown and return. Dundas had a collection of outbuildings in the old days. My 1910 postcard does not show this section-house though. I wonder what they patrolled with back then?

Storage shack, I would suspect. Perhaps a convenient place for tinkering on the old trackcars in use back then. You can see where they are lifted and rolled as the boards are just barely visible in the snow.
Good for overnight safekeeping.
Outbuildings gone the way of the outhouses these days…….
