Oh alright! Yeah I guess that makes sense. Safety and efficiency I'm sure are the priorities.

Thanks for the insight!

Well I am an engineer that works out of Mac Yard and I go east to Belleville sometimes. From what the guys in Belleville are saying its because the Montreal crews can't get to their objecyive terminals in time to protect their outbound assignment. The crew on 121 normally would protect 120 and the crew on 305 protects 368. If 121 or 305 run late which is often the case then a Belleville or Toronto based crew has to protect that train until the Montreal crews are available. Its easier not to have extended runs (12hrs) and have the Montreal crews get off at Belleville and a new crew take it west. Its about getting the train over the road more effeciently. I know that sounds strange, but this seems to be the case.

I am not sure if it takes effect on Jan 1st or not. I run trains to Belleville and was told that it would start in Jan, but not sure the exact date.

A non DP 305. Thats rare. Nice catch. In the new year there will be no more extended runs for the Montreal crews on this train. So 120, 121, 305, 368 will not be manned by them as they will run only to Belleville and change crews there. Fortunately the trains will still be running though.
