Comments on: On a rainy day the CNR Brampton station sits rather lonely with a lone CNR box car at the OCS unloading dock. It won’t be long that those absolute signals might get up-graded now that the old Credit Valley RR (CPR Orangeville Sub.) diamond is no longer… Taken from my fathers collection.

Correct Stephen, gone between 1973-1975, likely taken out for more parking space. I believe that was the old station freight shed originally.

Even after GO service began, Brampton Lumber still occupied a part of the parking lot at the NW corner and had a siding from the west end.

Was the OCS unloading dock removed when they extended GO service to Brampton?

Great photo. My aunt used to live in Brampton. Made many trips to the station when my Grandparents came to visit at the same time my family did.

The signals were changed to LEDs in 2007. Now, they guard both the diamond (which is gone) as well as a crossover and the beginning of a 3rd track westbound towards Norval. Needless to say, the signals aren't going anywhere.
