<title>Comments on: On New Years Eve 2009/2010 Judy and I were tasked by Rita and John Carroll, owners of the late Guelph Junction Express dinner and excursion train, with photographing their New Years Eve Special. The train came in from Guelph and was parked in the siding at Arkell while passengers feasted on a first-class meal. Just before midnight passengers debarked and stood in the snow for the countdown. At the stroke of midnight the sound of champagne corks being popped was joined by explosions of fireworks set off from a farmyard on the hill on the far side of the tracks. With our cameras firmly mounted on heavy tripods we took a series of long exposures as I ran around behind the line of sight with my Starblitz flash set at 1/16 power just to fill in some detail on the dark side of the locomotive. I had never photographed fireworks in a snowstorm before and I was impressed with how the dense, fine snow spread the colors all over the scene. It was a truly magical experience and one I won&#8217;t soon forget!</title>
