Comments on: On one of the coldest days I can recall for railfanning, not so much the bitter cold temperatures and the wind but the fact I had to walk a long way from the warm car………here is a shot of CP’s ‘Tall Forehead’ Special which was dispatched to tour the new CP/CASO connection in Waterford, which ensured a smoother connection to Nanticoke for the steel train from Hamilton. Another view and more detail at image #13717 I posted a few years ago. The train came down from Brantford, off on the west leg of the wye and can be seen here reversing under the old Lake Erie & Northern trestle. No track here today, the area is full of interesting walking trails and is well worth a visit.

They were poking so much I froze right up waiting . I recall the train being left down around the bend by the station and the unit ran light up and over the bridge, back down, connected with its train and then left. Could not see who was in the cab. If there was any 'ceremony' it was out of my sight around the bend. Otherwise, the whole procedure didn't make much sense.

So they ran this to the bridge over the new connection, did a ribbon cutting, reversed back to the connector, around the wye then back to Hamilton?
