Comments on: On quiet weekday afternoons when I had a chance I would park my butt hillside where the CN curves toward Bayview and the Junction. The Budds were an everyday experience, and were tiring after awhile. But now that their ranks have been depleted and they are never seen anymore in Southern Ontario, this shot makes for a nostalgic glimpse into the past. And I have never really understood why a thoroughly modern version of what looks like such an economical means of transportation could not be brought back.
Bridge seen is to a cemetery. It was once part of the Snake Rd that meandered along the water level below. And this part of the CN physical plant that I always called Bayview East now is on the timetable as “Snake”.

That would have been great. Perhaps the fact there was a two man crew made for high expenses but the seating capacity would have been good. And a much more enjoyable ride.

Great shot Mr. Mooney! I agree fully with why can't a modern version be brought back. Irish Rail is a prime example with their DMU intercity trains. For a short period after the formation of Terra Transport in Newfoundland in 1979, the Premier of the day toyed with bringing in re-trucked RDC's to replace the Roadcruiser Trans-Island bus. Now that would have been something to see ten years after the last 'Caribou'!
