Comments on: On still another one of those dull gray lifeless days I seem to specialize in, I wandered down to Fort Erie (because something happened in those days) and waiting for the light to cross the International Bridge back to the USA are two sets of transfer power for a change. CR 2282, 6700, 9526 and 9549. I regret not noting the van numbers. Quite often it was an extremely long wait to get over, for whatever reason, and I would often see the crew depart the units for a bar over on Courtwright St. Okay, okay, they were just having a sandwich and a glass of milk.
Times have changed. Conrail not does not come over any more, heck it no longer even exists!! Almost all businesses on Courtwright are gone; most of the track you see is gone, the Central Av bridge is gone and so is the CN facility in the background. But then, I have said all this before, haven’t I ?

Beauty shot. 24 years later, not much seems to have changed:

Of course, Conrail was gone 7 years and the repainted hadn't been completed (another 5 years) but it sure looks the same.

Of course now it's impossible to replicate, all CR paint is basically gone and so is the bridge..

It must be. I cannot think of anything else that was over there. It was there until around 1989 at least.
