Comments on: One thing that made Bayview so interesting for so many of us back in the day was the endless activity of the little GMD SW switchers of various models that made the rounds daily; whether little runs into Aldershot from Hamilton and return or perhaps wyeing the pigs in order to load them properly down at the Stuart St facility. Add in the VIAs and mainline freights and it seemed there was always something going on.
This image is of a typical transfer. CN 1212 and 1247 with van #79474 returning to Hamilton with but a single gon. By the looks of the sun angle, this was a rather late day shot. But still, it was something, and that something is now history.
CN 1212 retired in 1989, and the 1247 in 1995.

I'd like to think the new version was the red cab; but we will hope an "authority" steps in to explain the various paint schemes on these pups.

Also what's with the black and red cab on these two? Was there any rhyme or reason?
