Comments on: Only another few weeks, and, without a reversal by our seemingly two-faced government, the ‘tour of the line’ AC passengers will be no longer, as cancellation of government subsidies will pull the financial rug out from under what is considered a vital transportation link for those involved in communities along the way. It was a glorious spring day when I caught this southbound, led by AC 1756 and 1761, rolling by the old Frater station. I suspect the last runs, scheduled end of March 2014, will be crowded with rail fans mourning the passing of this popular train.

I wish I had seen them in freight service on the ACR line, Marcus, and I am disappointed that I was unable to find more time to wander the area. But it is a long way to go to see what little there was left. I did catch those Fs working on the Keokuk Jct Rwy in Illinois, though. T’was a lucky break. I didn’t even know they were there!! )

THANKS for this info, Mr. MoFo:o) Perhaps it will give some of us a chance to make a trip up before the train is history. Hopefully, it will be saved. Trouble is, despite all the mileage, there are very few ‘votes’ living along the line………
