Thanks for the information on the machine Paul. That's great you could figure out what it was originally. Next time I photograph any old CP or CN equipment I will try and document the original # if I can see it still applied to include with the photo.

After making some photo comparisons to pics my brother Wayne took last year in St. Thomas, ON, and help from a friend and Work Equipment aficionado, I have determined the machine in your photo is ex-PNR 8108, nee-CN 469-60.
It is a Pyke Mfg. utility crane, serial number 8428, built in 1984. It was delivered new from the factory in Oshawa, ON to CN in Winnipeg, MB on September 21, 1984.
This machine was built new with a two-section squirt stick boom, winch, and cable mechanism for use as a material handling utility crane. I am not sure when the boom conversion to a two-piece articulated tie handling boom was made.
Great photo!

Thanks for checking Jason. I will try to match the machine characteristics in your photo with other tie crane pics I have to determine which former CN unit it is.
Have a great long weekend. :-)

Paul, I checked all my other photos of the tie handling crane and unfortunately you can't see it's former number at all in the photos. Just the old patched former CN noodle.

Jason, did you happen to capture that tie handling crane from another angle that shows it's former running number?
