Comments on: Passing Counterparts. I find it really cool that I was able to catch a meet between opposing trains 384 and 385, each with opposite origins and destinations. I also like that each had an ex. BCRail engine in the consist as if to emphasis the idea that one train was the mirror image of the other. The consist for 384 included CN 3003, CN 3015 and ex BCOL 4612 while the consist for 385 included CN 2719, ex BCOL 4644 and CN 8838.

Just to be pedantic, 385′s leader was IC 2719. Were you zoomed in all the way to 200mm on this shot? I was surprised we didn’t run into any other foamers at the bridge that day…

Thanks for the comment’s guys. Haha! This is proof why I should never submit photos after midnight! I think what I was going for was “ex BCRail”. I knew they were still BCOL, not sure what I was thinking. Thanks for the correction/clarification James, ngineered4u and Joseph!

I think what James meant was why they were being referred to as “ex BCOL” units because they do still retain the reporting marks. Much like any other unit CN has acquired from their takeovers. Like “IC 1010″ or “GTW 5936″

@James..the red white and blue units are formerly BC Rail units. When CN took over BC Rail they acquired the power too. Even if they get painted in CN colours they will have sub lettering BCOL
