Comments on: Photographed from Kay Drage park in Hamilton, CEFX 119 leads train 246, Sudbury to Buffalo, NY. For some reason 246 was stuck on the hill downgrade at Hamilton and I managed to catch up to it on the way to a family gathering, I certainly had no plans to get this, but when opportunity knocks.. With 246 pinging and ponging back and forth, 119 has been in captive service – this unit is apparently leased to CSX right now. 119 led 247 north today and should return on Wednesday morning if all goes to plan. Shoot it while you can! Since this is a SD90 formerly used in CP service (remember when they were red?) these qualify to lead in Canada, as opposed to most foreign units.

This is one of my favourite shots. It didn’t last long in this paint as CIT. It became NS 7331 SD70ACU.

7331 was traded by NS to Progress Rail in January 2022. From here – still up in the air.
