Comments on: QNS&L SD40-2 314 rests at Mac Yard shop track. Not sure where this unit is headed as it came in from Montreal a few days ago and has not returned to home rails. Anyone know where its headed?

Highly doubtful that they are power short with the downturn in traffic on almost all railroads. Perhaps it’s the best time to stand them for rebuild is when you don’t really need them?

Must be power short if those SD70ACe’s and AC4400CW’s aren’t cutting the mustard, but I can’t imagine that happening. They do have possibly the very last SD70ACe’s built in Canada for a Canadian railroad. Correct me if I’m wrong.

It’ll be headed to the States for rebuild. MEI St. Louis sticks in my mind for some reason but I may be wrong…but the QNSL is cycling most of their SD40-2′s through the rebuild process.
