John, The station was bought from the Town of Huntsville by a consortium of 3 locals, John Pantaleo, Scott Richardson and Adam Caswell. https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwj7uazw_OvvAhWBXc0KHZk7BoQQFjABegQIBBAD&url=https%3A%2F%2Fdoppleronline.ca%2Fhuntsville%2Fhuntsville-train-station-a-year-later%2F%23%3A~%3Atext%3DIt%27s%2520been%2520a%2520little%2520over%2Cfor%2520the%2520sum%2520of%2520%25242.&usg=AOvVaw0tDCL0yw_FSiYHb9ALI1zu
Historically the flowers have been supplied and maintained by the town's Recreation and Facilities but I doubt that arrangement still exists. I don't recall whether or not any flowers were in place in the past few years since the town dumped the station and of course the flowers wouldn't be out yet this year since it's too early. It was -8 the night before last, the town also maintains the flowers at the Huntsville and Lake of Bays Railway's Rotary Village Station and they normally bring them out around the Victoria Day weekend. I'm a volunteer engineer with the HLBR and that's what I noticed anyway. I'll have a look around the CN station this summer and I'll try to remember to have a peek and get back to you on it.

Great picture Wayne, brings back fond memories of getting off the Northlander in summer time with station flower boxes in full bloom. Is the station today being looked after and are the flower boxes still being maintained. ? John

Thanks folks! JP, the train order signal lens heads and boards were removed many years ago when train order signals became defunct, but the stand and mechanism were left in place. The Huntsville Train Station Society worked with CN to get them put back in place. The job was done by a CN Signals Foreman (now a Section Super working out of Washago) who told me that he reinstalled the boards in a position that didn't really mean anything and painted the lenses black to prevent sunshine from shining through the back of them and giving a false signal. After all even if train order boards are no longer used, a red light is still a red light, if ya know what I mean.
