Comments on: Rather tired looking INCO 116 GE 100T at switch awaiting instruction. This unit was rebuilt the following year, and then retired in 2001 as Vale Industries took over from INCO in 2000 and favoured the diesel. Photo taken not far from the INCO connector at CP ‘Levack’, (mile 104.3 Cartier Sub) alongside Hwy 144.

Another gem Arnold. Reminds me of my days in Calgary (1996-2000). I was the Field Ops Safety Specialist for CP (incl D&H and Soo Line)and I took a call from a manager at Inco wondering about our rules for entraining & detraining. I told him our long standing rule was 6mph or less, but I was working on re-writing it to a bit lower. He told me Inco's was 10mph which I suggested was a bit too high. My angst grew when he told me that was off the front footboards! It was a moot point because as you've noted, they got rid of the electrics not long after we had talked.
