Comments on: Retired in late 2001, LRC Locomotive #6917 was given a new lease on life during the summer of 2010 when it was saved from the scrapper’s torch by efforts from the Toronto Railway Historical Association. The unit currently sits at VIA’s Toronto Maintenance Centre where it is lovingly worked on by a dedicated team of volunteers. The eventual plan is to have the locomotive cosmetically restored and in operating condition, potentially in service on a tourist line. See: http://www.trha.ca/LRC/ for more information.
