Comments on: Returning to North Bay after interchange with CP, the Ottawa Valley GP9E 4204, OSRX RS-23 #504 and OV GP9E 4203 run eastward over the CN diamond at Coniston in this very late afternoon in what looks to be a winter day, but is actually the first day of April. That is the town of Coniston right center, and it felt like a lot longer a walk than it was to get to this location after leaving my car in town.
Not long after this scene, the 4204 was transferred to the Lakeland and Waterways, where it promptly went out of service; the 4203 I have no idea where it ended up and would like to know…….the ORSX 504, former CP 8044 a few weeks previous, now still around in Southern Ontario. Back then, the OSR was an outfit that contracted locos out to mainline and industrial railroads, which explains why 504 was on the loose up here.

Excellent photo from one of my favourite spots! Fyi, 4203 was scrapped in North Bay in 2008 after sitting unused for several years.

Yeah, time kinda drags in the cold, doesn't it?
The wind never stops and the trains never run. Seriously though, it is an interesting place to be.

Really, Matt??? Perhaps someone else caught a similar train on a different day? It was once a popular spot for unusual CP power (leasers) back in the '90's.
