Comments on: Rough image taken on a dull November day many years back, but this shot of C&O eastbound approaching what I think was Mull Rd; just out of Blenheim, shows a number of ‘paint variants’ on the old C&O locomotives. The freshly turned muddy field sure doesn’t bring any brightness to the image. Units are C&O 3044, 3538, 3046, 5753, and 5708. They were still dealing with all the changes, good & bad, from the creation of Conrail in April. Given the cost cutting and, the amount of motive power, this has to be train 42 from Detroit. My guess is, if you hung around, he made a big setoff of phosphate rock cars, either in Blenheim yard, or in the North siding alongside Sub #2. Thanks for this.
