Comments on: Rounding a curve passing tiny Churchville first point north of Streetsville where the Galt Sub. double track mainline was left behind for the single track branchline. The firemen all sitting down at this point but they won’t be so comfortable for long! Peter Fairfull with the peak of his cap turned up (normal for Peter!). Crews vied for the run but only Peter came to my home and asked permission to fire 136. On the right hand seatbox is regular North Pool engineer Charlie Waters who would not trade off. Russ Cook is firing 815 and I am in the cab with him and regular North Pool engineer Harry Burke. 1057 is being run by Bill Stewart and the always cheerful Don Atkinson is firing. BTW no room for me in the tiny cab of 136 with THREE officials watching over things!

HTG: Incidentally....to commemorate this historic event a special LP (you know, those round discs with grooves in them) of the event was released in 1961 (re-released in 1973) entitled 'Sentimental Journey..The Last Run'; put together by Ray (Old Time Trains) Kennedy, who, at tender age 17, in turn was also the organizer of this whole Tripleheader Adventure. Hats off to Ray!!!! The album brings back the glory days of steam; turn up the volume and blow the wife and kids right out of the house!! Ray may still have some copies.............
