Comments on: Rumbling over that trackage now long gone, SOO 6610, GATX 7365, and CRL 603 are seen heading toward Clifton Hill and the US border in downtown Niagara Falls before the line was removed for construction of the Fallsview casino. Skylon tower in the background is clue to location of photo. As much as the fans flock for a white SOO these days, never were they overly common. A nice alternative to the endless red. :o) *The CRL stands for Conrail Leasing.

Smith: It wouldn't be "Fallsview Tower" would it? Or is it still, as CTP suggests, Seagrams?

SEAGRAMS TOWER!
Wasn't originally supposed to look like a Crown to remind people to buy and drink Crown Royal?
I knowI'm younger than Mooney! Minolta Tower. Skylon Tower ...whatever.
And, Mr Mooney, white SOO's seemed pretty common in Ontario for a few years.

Skylon Tower is still named as such. The Minolta Tower was called "The Tower Hotel" for a while, but I seem to recall a different name on it when we took the boys to the falls last week. I think the new name has "Falls" in it, but I can't recall the full name. Clearly I should have paid closer attention, I didn't know there was going to be a quiz!

Shucks. Seriously, Mr. Smith, I noticed I had made a kasabooboo and wrote to say "hold the photo", but I guess it got missed and now I face the wrath of smith. The gps reading is out a p hair as well.......I had trouble locating a spot that no longer has any tracks, nor ID save for that tower. Nice to see you are alert and on the ball. Question: Are these two towers still called what they were originally or has someone purchased the rights to rename them?
