Comments on: Sad news Reports from Goderich media that the Goderich CNR station has suffered a major fire with all Goderich fire companies responding on October 20 2016. In recent years this building was vacant and for sale, but by winter 2016 a Media company had moved in who create content for broadcast television – a really neat company who happily gave me a tour of the interior. The Goderich-Exeter Railway also used this station as their base of operations until that was moved to Stratford sometime around 2000 probably when the Guelph sub lease occurred. The last regular service passenger trains here were in 1970. If anyone has more media reports on what happened, please link below.

The word going around is it was caused by one of the drone pilots lithium battery packs catching fire/exploding while charging.

The blue flag protection was for the Goderich shop, an engine was in the shop being worked on.

Television broadcast facility in a station?? My kind of work in a lovely location. Sad about the fire. Did the business lose their facilities in it? And was it arson. If so… *hence the sign* “Who Can It Be Now?
