Comments on: SD40-2F CMQ 9010 and Jordan Spreader CP 402998 are in the process of cutting away some soil and ballast on the north side of the main between Morse and Herbert SK on the Swift Current Sub. Perhaps prepping for winter and the subsequent spring runoff? I wont pretend to know.

I can see in this 'going away' shot that the operator has lifted the heal of the wing up slightly to stop the gouging of the shoulder ballast, which is quite evident in the 'coming towards' pic. :-)

CP 402998 is a Jordan Type J, 4-150X spreader. It is equipped with front cab, high snow plow front blade, articulated side wings, hydraulic cylinders, and a high rear platform. It was built in 1981 and wears serial number 1489. Looks like he has the wing perfectly set for some nice shoulder profiling, ditch cleaning, and a little bank widening. :-)
