Comments on: Showing what it can do, NSCX 8504 pulls a cut of NS coil cars out of the NSC Yard and across Kenilworth Ave., then reverses back into another track. NSCX 5306 was also running around but not handling cars. Earlier in the morning NSCX 8504 and NSCX 5306 were coupled nose to nose outside what I think is the Touch Up Shop, after lunch they were nowhere to be seen. The Yellow Critters are still doing all the work.

James - I also prefer the long hood leading. From an operating perspective long hood leading would provide the best visibility from the cab end when reversing and coupling within the plant. The 5306 and 8704 are currently oriented with long hood leading. Centre cabs do provide good visibility in both directions.

On that note, I really hope it gets wyed. I'd much prefer a centrecab to the cab end of an end cab, but maybe that's just me.

This one (I think at least - I didn't look to see which it was; just saw it was cab forward) was out earlier today with all of the engine doors (or whatever the hell they are called) open and a number of people actively looking inside.

Thanks you, it has been a long wait. The 8504 sure lights up with the LED coloured warning lights, the LED headlight and ditch lights are quite intense also.
