Simply the best.  Introduced by the CPR in 1955.   “ The Canadian ” , a World Class train.  And for a while CP Rail continued that tradition ..... shown in the final year.....1978 ........then the Via'ized version.....well, you know the history. August 1978 was an interesting time: the Chateau sleeper in front of the Skyline Dome is in coach service due to extra passenger demand generated by an air traffic disruption.

  1. Amazing shot Steve! True 1970′s Canadian rail-roading and photography at it’s best. In 1988 I was fortunate enough to ride the 1988 VIA version across Canada before the re-routing. A trip of a lifetime and a lifetime of memories! – Ken Pieroway
