Comments on: Since my last visit in early October, motive power at HOPA’s Niagara Port Services (former Bioveld?) operation has been swapped from one GP9 to another, with LDSX 4100, the former CN 4100, assuming this role. This operation has become quite busy, with trains operating almost, if not daily (thanks GC), usually with about 15-20 cars on each trip.Of note, HOPA’s green SW1200RSu 1305, was seen parked in Allanburg yard this morning with stacks capped. Bioveld logos have been replaced with NPS, Niagara Port Services lettering, also seen on the former Hayes-Dana plant building.

Given that 1305 was attached to the tail end of two outbound tank cars, my guess is that 1305 will be in Port Rob within a few hours and may even be on CN 422 in the morning ... LDS expertise and return. Rail has returned to South Thorold.

Thank you for the info, Glenn. I was hoping you’d follow up on this discussion. Curious to see what is happening with 1305.

Neat capture Jacob. It would appear this has indeed become a 7 day a week operation. From observation, it is mostly mornings at NPS. However, on Fridays the crew work the CN Interchange at Southern Yard with trusty #108 (2 customers and smoking close) in the morning before NPS. Wednesday is interchange day as well, albeit the schedule is reversed. Nine boxcars are placed in the warehouse at NPS ... 5 in one bay and 4 in the other with room for another 9 in the siding.
Interestingly, all paper loads from Ontario Northland cars are transloaded to truck and then off stateside to New York.

Thanks gents. Seems to be no exact schedule, and at times the crew will also spend their time down on the tube spur.
