Comments on: Since Parry Sound often appears to “roll up the sidewalks” after the dinner hour; one guy found a good way to pass the time. Head for the CP station and watch the trains come in. It is rather late in the evening for the Super Continental #3 to be arriving at the station. It’s scheduled time was around 1800, and from the sun angle it is well past that. But still bright enough for a decent image. Power is CP 1409 and VIA 1961 with a fairly long train, considering it meets up with the Montreal section at Sudbury. The CP 1409 was rebuilt into VIA 6557 in 1982.

A CN train running on CP trackage with a CP Painted locomotive on point… You could call that a foreshadowing of what they would do to the Canadian in the 1990s! Great capture!

Nicely captured scene. A Yellow Train order board for the northbound passenger, a black and white former CN steam genny and the Baggage Man poking his head out the baggage car door getting ready to grab a lone suitcase and paperwork from the Operator.
