Comments on: Some days Murphy wins, and a long day gets longer. This trains crew started at around 9am. 5 hours and a mere 35 miles later, one of their 2 engines packs it in for the day(7006). There’s no way the lone remaining engine can pull the 10000+ feet of train up the Niagara Escarpment and the the Grand River “dip”, so a rescue is required…and a fresh crew. 9 hours after it started, and now 65 miles done, 147′s huge train struggles into Cambridge about to do battle with Orr’s Lake hill. Why CP is buying more of them is a management question I don't understand, as they seem to be shop queens. But I'll still leave the house just to see them....
