Comments on: STLH 5448 leads CP 5623 eastward as seen from the Lemonville Rd bridge in Aldershot. The 5448 was readily identified with its large ‘STLH’ patches; the only one of its kind.
There was a trio of locomotives around back at that time which were referred to as “The Ugly Sisters”, namely 5447, 5448 and 5449. The 5447 was the most pitiful, with “CP” applied with what looked like a roller brush on a rust coloured body. The 5448 was most distinctive, and I enjoyed seeing this one as a leader.

The Oakville joint section ended around 2009 or 2010.

Kevin: I recall back then there was either #521 from the States and a 523 from Niagara Falls ON that came thru here and I could never seem to get them right so passed on the ID. It was either one or the other. Unfortunately, just like now, numbers changed thru the years and I did not keep track of them. A 522 went the opposite direction. They used the Campa.

Good stuff. Do you happen to recall the ID of the CP train. I remember even as late as 2006 CP trains were still taking the Oakville Sub. Not sure when they stopped. Was it the Canpa Sub they took to reach the Galt?
