Comments on: TE11 passes by the decommissioned signal pole at mile 10 of the Dunnville Spur. This was a lucky catch, as I was parked near Feeder Yard hoping for the PCHR to make an appearance. While waiting there I overheard on the scanner the Welland Yard crew tell the RTC that they were about to head to “port” so I quickly changed my plans for the day.

I understand that for a time, Welland was down to one job, on days, to do everything. Recently, the night job was reinstated, and the Port turn has returned to its nocturnal run time.

Awesome shot, Craig. Much nicer than what I was able to get, I regret to say. Certainly doesn’t hurt that it wasn’t the long hood of 3045, which I saw far too much of during its tenure in Welland.

So what’s the story on these sudden daylight moves in May and June?

I didn’t hear about it and would have happily gone down for it. Seems I was the last to know, 2 months later.

It must be much more common now than we think for a few people to have been able to get it.
